POS Time Clock In
Time tracking that lives in the till, not in a folder
Your team clocks in on the same Shopify POS they ring sales on. Hours, breaks and overtime are recorded as they happen, then flow straight into the payroll provider you already use.
Built for the way a shop floor actually runs
Most time tracking is designed for an office. Retail is not an office. Staff arrive mid rush, cover a shift at another store, take a break when the queue clears, and leave when the shutters come down. Paper sheets and a separate app both fail the same way: nobody fills them in at the moment it happens.
Putting the clock inside Shopify POS removes that gap. The till is already open, already logged in, already in their hands.
Clock in where they already stand
Staff clock in and out directly from Shopify POS. No second device, no separate login, no app for a new starter to install on their personal phone before their first shift.
Geofencing keeps the record honest
Clock ins can be tied to the store location, so a shift starts when someone is actually at the shop, not on the bus. It removes the awkward conversation about a timesheet nobody can verify.
Breaks and overtime, calculated not argued
Set break rules and overtime thresholds once. Hours are counted against them automatically, so the numbers at the end of the week are the same numbers your staff saw during it.
Timesheets ready for the payroll you already run
Approve timesheets in the Shopify admin, then connect your existing payroll provider rather than migrating to a new one. You keep the system your accountant knows, and the hours arrive without anyone retyping them.
Why it matters
Fewer payroll corrections
Hours captured at the moment they happen leave less to reconstruct, and fewer adjustments after payday.
No new system to learn
Staff already know Shopify POS. Adding the time clock to it costs almost no training time.
Keep your payroll provider
Connect the payroll you already use instead of migrating to ours. No switch, no parallel run, no risk.
Frequently asked questions
The things retailers ask us before they install.
Where can staff clock in and out?
Directly from Shopify POS, on the same device they use to take payments. There is no separate hardware to buy and nothing for staff to install on a personal phone.
Can I stop people clocking in before they reach the store?
Yes. Geofencing ties a clock in to the store location, so a shift can only start when the person is actually there.
Does it handle breaks?
Yes. You set your break rules and the app applies them to recorded hours, so paid and unpaid time is separated consistently rather than being worked out afterwards.
How is overtime calculated?
You define the thresholds that apply to your business and hours are measured against them automatically as they are recorded.
Can a manager correct a mistake?
Yes. Timesheets can be reviewed and adjusted in the Shopify admin before they are approved, which is usually where a forgotten clock out gets caught.
We run more than one store. Does that work?
Yes. Multi location is supported, so staff can work across sites and you can see hours for every location rather than opening each one separately.
Do I have to move my payroll to you?
No, and this is the part most retailers care about. You connect the payroll provider you already use rather than migrating to a new one. Your accountant keeps the system they know.
Does it track time off as well as hours worked?
Yes. Time off requests and approvals are handled in the same place, so the schedule and the timesheet agree with each other.
Can I see who is on shift right now?
Yes. Current clock in status is visible without calling the store to ask.
Is this suitable for a small shop?
Yes. It is built for single site retailers as much as for groups. There is no minimum team size to make it worth setting up.
What happens if the internet drops mid shift?
Shopify POS is designed to keep working through short interruptions and sync when the connection returns. If you have a site with unreliable connectivity, tell us before you roll out and we will talk it through.
How long does setup take?
Installing and adding your locations and staff is quick. If you would rather we walked you through it, email support@retailforce.io and we will help.
